The female character of the femme fatale has existed for decades but has evolved in its representation greatly due to the rise of film and pop culture. The femme fatale has always been a powerful and often controversial female figure. Seductive and dangerous women have been seen for many years in art, film, music and culture, and have always pushed the boundaries of the stereotypical female representation, often being seen as sexualised, but still powerful and dominant, much like a stereotype of a man. In this editorial, I created a female character inspired by the femme fatales of the film noir era, and followed her through a movie like narrative portrayed through the photos, all shot and styled by me.
